If you can't measure it, you can't manage it, right? Well, what if you could measure your voice for all the daily ticks and swear words you overuse?
Dolby wanted to see how an app like this could be possible and tasked our team to design and develop an app to do just that.
The interface of the Dongl app resembled a bucket of balls, with each ball representing a word or sound. The balls would drop from the top and accumulate over time.

Your own live feed
As the user casually speaks during the day, each word (and sound) they utter is heard, recorded and then represented by a ball that falls from the top and gathers at the bottom. These balls collect over time and give the user a visual record of their speech.
The triggers
As the app identified a particular word or sound, the corresponding ball would transform into a recognised shape. For instance, if the app recognised laughter, the ball would transform into a yellow sun, or if you had asked it to listen for a word you say too much and want to say less of, it would listen and identity that trigger word.
A record of your day
Any identified word or sound captured can be played back by tapping it in the timeline. Stats are also available fo it in real-time.
